I welcome Eric S. Brown back to the podcast this week, and we talk about all kinds of cool stuff — most namely, his first hardback, Season of Death. You can get it here.
I talk about the movie Creature with the Atom Brain (1955).
I went to the Eerie Horror Film Festival this past Saturday, and tell you all about the people I talked to, and the films that I watched:
- “Attackazoids, Deploy!”
- “Arthur”
- “The Curse of Micah Rood”
- “They Came From the Attic”
- “Findher”
- “Patient”
- “One Track Mind”
- “Deep River: The Island”
- “Bottles”
- “Ghosts Don’t Exist”
- “United Monster Talent Agency”
- “Tinglewood”
- “Cabine of the Dead”
- “Danger.Zombies.Run.”
In this week’s original music, I cover “Soul to Squeeze” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Soul to Squeeze was one of my favorite Chili Peppers songs way back when, yet, if I heard your version without hearing the title, I don’t think I would even think about the original version. It’s got a whole new feel and I know a good few people who’ll definitely dig it, so I’ll send ’em this-a-way.
I’m kind of glad you brought up Survival of the Dead again. I finally watched it last week, fully prepared to like it no matter what. I just couldn’t tho’. It was total shit. I knew there was no hope as soon as I saw that forehead CGI kill in the first scene..the one where the main army guy shoots a third of the zombie’s head away like he was pulling a table cloth trick. The writing, casting, acting and plot were just awful. I hate to admit it, but Romero needs to face it; it’s over. There are Mexican soap operas with more dignity than this movie.
Anyway, great show.
Thanks Victor!
